How To Remove from PTPTN Blacklist

=Warning=
This is not a joke post. This post is more towards the post regarding PTPTN, a study loan provider in Malaysia. If you are looking for some jokes to read, kindly refer to the archive on your left side.

As seen from the title, this post is to help those that urgently needed to get out from the PTPTN blacklist. Before going further, first of all, you need to know

WHY you are blacklisted?

Simple. Either you are not paying your loan back consistently or you did not even pay a single cent of your loan. Bear in mind that, PTPTN only give you 6 months of non-repayment period after your graduation. And 6 months after that, they will start collecting the repayment from you. For those who happen to delay your expected graduation, it is best that you inform PTPTN earlier before getting blacklisted.

Alright, key points now. How can you remove yourself from the PTPTN blacklist and also the Imigresen blacklist?

  1. You can do it at both side. Either KL Sentral or the one at Damansara Heights. I can advise you to just directly go to the Damansara Heights as even if you managed to settle in KL Sentral, they will ask you to remove from blacklist at Damansara Heights. After all, the PTPTN at Damansara Heights is the headquarter.
  2. Go to PTPTN @ Damansara Heights and head straight to 6th floor.
  3. Go to the counter at the Repayment Department. Get a number or just sit in front of the receptionist and tell him/her that you are blacklisted.
  4. Ask for the amounts that you owe them and do a full payment and ask them to remove your name from the blacklist. They can do it in 1-2 working days although it is stated that they required 7 working days. You need to tell them it is super urgent and state your reasons to make them remove your name this quick.
  5. What if you are unable to make a full payment? Not to worry too much. There is still some hope here. Since what you owe them are money, all you need is also money to settle your issue. Try to negotiate with them until half of the amount for immediate settlement. They can allow you to pay the rest through at least RM300 of monthly installment by deducting your salary. Fair enough?
  6. Now is regarding the half amount of settlement above. If you still don't have the cash to settle for at least half the amount, there is still again some hope here. I'm sure that you all should have some funds in your KWSP/EPF savings. Use them. But, bear in mind that PTPTN want to see you throw some cash out here in settling the debts. So what you can do is, propose to them that you will pay at least RM1000 in advanced and deduct the rest from your KWSP/EPF. Try to pay at least RM1000 in advance as I doubt that they will accept any payment that is lower than RM1000 cash.
  7. Once you are done with the negotiation, make your payment ASAP and sign whatever documents that they require you to sign. If you are urgent with the blacklist removal, remind them. Check your name after 2 working days. Your name should have already be removed by then.
You can check your blacklist status from two links below:

A piece of advice for the people involved in this issue, pay back the loan. It is fair in this world that if we loan something and we repay back. I also hope that this piece of article can help the people who needs to leave the country urgently but have this issue with PTPTN.

Hi..

I just read your blog, nice tips for those blacklisted by PTPTN. Actually I was blacklisted, and I just discussed with PTPTN ( KL Sentral officer) and he said that I need to pay RM5000 as basic, and for installment I need to cut my salary, rm300 per month.

I will going to Indonesia next 2 weeks, and I just get RM5K and will pay to them by this week.

1. Do you think I still have time to clear my name from black listed? Because normally it takes 7 working days?

2. Where should I go for payment? KL sentral or Damansara?

Please advise.

Hi Azrul,

I would suggest you to go to the Damansara Height PTPTN. This is because the removal of blacklist is done over there. It will normally take 7 working days. But when you talk to the officer over there, try to negotiate with them that you need to leave the country ASAP. With that, they can remove your name as fast as 2-3 working days only. It's good that you already prepared all the necessary things. Not to worry too much, once you had done your payments, everything will be fine. You just need to check your name @ PTPTN hotline and see whether your name is removed from the blacklist or not.

Cheers

Hi..

FYI, my name already cleared by PTPTN. Thanks for your tips. Yes, important things, you must go directly to their HQ, and discuss about the payment. Most important, you must have money for advance the outstanding.

Azrul.

If I check with immigration, no blacklisted. However I am blacklisted in PTPTN. I will ovesea after 2 weeks, can I still ovesea? I m paying back 300 per mth. Just not yet nego v PTPTN n remove blacklist. Can I ovesea?

If you want to gamble your luck, then you still have the chance to get yourself overseas. But I would not want that trouble. I will suggest you to negotiate and remove from the list. They don't really bother how much you are paying a month. They are more interested on how you are going to settle the debt with them. So prepare cash or other financial backup plan. I saw one gal was about to represent Malaysia for some competition, but still cannot pass through the PTPTN blacklist unless she pay.

thanks for the info...gute luck in blogging bro...

what should i prepare for negotiating with PTPTN if i direcly head to the HQ at Damansara Heghts? Izit only have to prepare money?
Any other things wanna prepare and bring along with me when i wanna negotiae with them?
e.g. payslip, statemen of KWSP....?

please advice.

Thank you very much!

Administrator said...

If you need to settle everything in one day.

1. Prepare sufficient cash.
2. Latest KWSP Statement
3. Payslip (Because they need to know how much they can deduct monthly)
4. Supporting Documents on why you couldn't/late payment previously (optional)

The above should be sufficient. In fact item no.4 they don't really bother. All they want is to know how you gonna settle the debts and item 1,2,3 is your weapon.

Good Luck Vivian

Thank you very much for your useful informatio provided.
juat a stupid question, do you know how to get the latest KWSP statement?

Administrator said...

Ahh....

That you need to go to those KWSP kiosk machine where you can print your latest statement using your MyKad. If you have a MyKad that is not functioning well, then I guess you need to go to the KWSP office. You can try print online also, but I am not sure whether PTPTN will accept or not.

Hi, if i want to make full payment (the amount i owe them). Should i prepare the following:

1. Latest KWSP Statement
2. Payslip (Because they need to know how much they can deduct monthly)
3. Supporting Documents on why you couldn't/late payment previously (optional)

Administrator said...

Yes.

And also not to forget, you need to prepare as much cash as possible. In the end, they need to see your cash :)

Hi there,
This is really a relief for those whom are blacklisted by PTPTN.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.
I would like to know if I am only able to settle half of my debt now, the rest I can pay PTPTN by monthly salary deduction right?
But does the remaining debt still contains interest?
ie: If I still got RM10K debt left, will PTPTN allows me to deduct from my salary for the RM10K or does the RM10K will increase every month due to interest?

Thanks again for your help.

Administrator said...

erm bro

I think for the interest portion, you need to consult them directly. I am not too good with interest calculation actually. If there is any other items that I might help, I will be glad to :)

Great article! But I do have a question though..how does having EPF help you reduce your PTPTN balance? As far as I know you're not allowed to withdraw from your savings until your retired..

Administrator said...

Hi

Sorry for not stating it clearly before. In your EPF, there is account B which is 30% of your total EPF savings. That 30%, you can use for house down payment, children's education, parent's medical expenses and also PTPTN repayment. Thus, you are only allowed to get the maximum of the 30% for your PTPTN only :)

hi, so is there anyone able to out to overseas that being blacklisted by PTPTN but not immigrasien?

Administrator said...

Hi

Yes you can but unfortunately, there is a risk. PTPTN refused to tell whether it is already submitted or not. They will just said they submitted to imigresen, and they are processing your names.

Dear Administrator,

I stopped work end of April. I will be joining my new job overseas end of May (have the offer letter from new employer overseas). So I cannot have my pay deducted thru LHDN (applicable for employment in Malaysia only) or neither can I produce the recent payslips as I am not working in the old place anymore. Does standing instruction work for the installment payback every month? What is your advice for me? Appreciate it very much. Thanks.

hi,
i wanted to know that, if my friend working in singapore now and when she's coming back to malaysia, she has been told by the custom that her name has been blacklisted and she can come out from singapore but cannot go in singapore unless paying back the money. She never work in malaysia since she's graduated. May i know that, what document does she need to bring ? im afraid she dont have KWSP account, or even if she has, im afraid the amount of the KWSP is not much. P/s: the custom tells her that she need to go to putrajaya settle the payment and then go to dunno what jabatan keselamatan to remove the name, does she need to do those things?
thank you very very much~!

Administrator said...

Hi Regretful

Since you are out of job, you can let them know and perhaps they can leave you out. If I am not mistaken, you can apply for holding your repayment if you are out of job in the PTPTN rules. However, your case is slightly different and therefore, you will need to consult them. Do let us know if you manage to success. Good luck.

Administrator said...

Hi Anonymous

Regarding your friend that worked in Singapore, this is what going to happen to her when she got putrajaya. The officer will let her know why she cannot pass the custom, and probably is the PTPTN, and then redirect her to PTPTN office from there. If your friend is sure of getting blacklisted by PTPTN, then i think you can ask her to settle directly. Since she is working in Singapore, I'm afraid the PTPTN will demand more. This is quite different from the case I seen so far, so it might not be so easy. One of PTPTN method of not paying back for my year was, when you go overseas, never come back to Malaysia anymore >.<. Anyway, good luck to your friend there. I hope she can get her issue solved.

Regretful said...

Hi Administrator,

I settled the outstanding amount yesterday per the officer's advice in PTPTN and they almost instantly lifted me from the immigration block. When I checked later in the evening, my name was no more blocked in the immigration website. However, I am going to walk into the immigration office ust to be sure! I also set up a SI to pay the installment every month. Your blog has been of great help. Thank you very much!

Administrator said...

Hi Regretful

Congratulations on the release from Immigration. You are welcome as I am just trying to help because I went through and knew the procedure. If you don't mind, you can share your story with me by email me at admin@itscolumn.com so that I can perhaps update your solution because yours is a different case. Congrats again and have a safe trip to SG.

Hi,

i wanted to know that the amt we need to pay is the full loan amt or the outstanding loan? is the monthly installment equal 10% of our salary or more? And when will the monthly repayment end - untill we clear the full loan or the outstanding loan? Is there any other standing instruction beside deduction from salary?
Kindly advise. Thank you :)

Hi,
I got the same issues here & thanks for all the infos. It helps a lot. But anyway, i just went through another blog which discussing about the same matter & there's 1 immigration officer shared her piece of advice regarding the blacklisting thing. She said once we have made the payment & cleared our names we need to go to the immigration dept. in putrajaya to collect what they called as "surat kemudahan" which we have to maybe show it at custom counter at the airport. But if we dont have it we cant get through the gate. I dont know if this thing is true. Do u guys know anything about this?

Thanx;)

Greetings Administrator,

I was just wondering. How much would the officer from PTPTN usually ask for as basic payment? How about if we don't have such amount of money and we plan to pay it monthly first since I am still a student?
